It is really hard to review a game when it is the third series of the game franchise. There is always a lot to tell about the full game when it is the third edition; when you do not like something in the video game, then it becomes more challenging to explain it vividly.

I had the Bayonetta series combat in such a high spirit that I consider it among the top five combats of all time next to Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, God of War, and Batman Arkham games. Playing an adventurous game is great and full of opportunities for creativity and style. Bayonetta 3 is carrying its legacy by giving a surprising sequel to the game.

It seemed that the third franchise took a lot of risk by changing up its established formula to recreate a combat system that evolved a little bit in the previous sequels. Fortunately, that risk worked and paid off because Bayonetta 3 is invigorated and a great sequel with a fresh new idea that bolds the 13-year-old combat system.

There is an impressive amount of variety throughout its 10 to 12-hour campaign. Other than the trademark, the lucrative Bayonetta style makes the series one of the most interesting and intriguing among the fans.

The first two Bayonetta games are linked directly as far as their stories go. Bayonetta 3’s story is a standalone story that only requires some basic knowledge of the game franchise, like knowing about the characters. If you are worried about playing the third sequel Bayonetta 3, don’t be because it will be easy to grasp the new story and know how to play it. You will quickly understand and pick up everything about the game’s plot and setting.

Having said that, the story of Bayonetta 3 is weaker than the trilogy. The new gamers who came to play Bayonetta 3 without playing the previous one will find it very amusing. But the pro gamers who are fans of this game franchise will get disappointed because, this time, they had high expectations about the storyline.

Story Line

Bayonetta 3 starts with the dark prologue chapter that gives an introduction to the fans. This first chapter introduces the vicious and powerful new villain. The introduction also tells about the new dark scene that is not known by the gamers before in the previous parts.

Bayonetta 3 title character is on her heels in a losing fight. But the mystery that was created surrounding the villain does not reveal much and never pays off. The motif of the disastrous villain is never explored and seems meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

In Bayonetta 3, the main character’s journey is a little interesting. She jumps between all kinds of different metaverses and interacts with the different versions of herself. The journey in Bayonetta 3 seems interesting and is a fun romp, but the overall story involving hows and whys never seems together in any kind of satisfaction at the end.

Introduction of Viola

While moving forward with the story, there is an introduction of Viola at a high point. This is the second playable character in Bayonetta 3. Viola looks like a punk protagonist who came out of a completely different character action game. She is in a spiked leather jacket with a samurai sword and too many belt buckles.

The most interesting thing about this character is her endearingly dorky character despite her looks. This makes a great counterpart of the main character of Bayonetta 3. These two characters have great chemistry and share many great moments in the game.

Pure Platinum Combat

Bayonetta 3 is more ambitious than its sequel two because of the sweeping changes to everything. The changes include the core combat abilities to the way she equips and finds new weapons. She also gains new abilities and techniques for weapons not present in part 2 and how to use her magic in Bayonetta 3.

Bayonetta, the main character, can summon the new Demon Slaves into battle anytime by holding down the left trigger. She seems vulnerable while summoning and dancing during the summon. It will allow you the magic meter and allow you to control the demon with the left stick she is carrying. She can use the button to either kick, punch, fire a ranged attack or use the demon’s special ability.

Bayonetta 3 Screens

This game gives you the feeling of the power tip, and the use of beastly Gomorrah to take out the enemies is amazing. The platinum also does a great job of keeping the power of summons as the game move on. One hit on Bayonetta is required to cancel the summon. It will take more magic to resummon the demons than it does to keep summoning them.

The summons can also take more damage, and some dangerous enemies can destroy them with a single move. You will need to put it on a cooldown timer before bringing back the summons.

One particular enemy style will get multiplied if they killed one of your demons during the game in Bayonetta 3. The rage meter of your summon is very important because you have to be careful about it. Suppose these rage meters are on maxes, then they will turn against you, and you would not be able to unsummoned them. This is the real high-risk vs. high-reward situation. Platinum in Bayonetta 3

My favorite thing about this demon summoning and Demon Slave system is that you can give two commands at a time. However, you will be unable to move while summoning or using commands by queueing two commands at a time.

Once the command is queued up, you can be free to attack, move, dodge, or do whatever you want in the situation. If you are great at multitasking and can balance the offense, then you can fight alongside the summoning and extend the period.

The combat is already deep in Bayonetta 3, and with summoning and multitasking, you can survive through this stage.

One of the interesting things in Bayonetta 3 is summoning Baal. Baal is able to sing for her attack if the main character Bayonetta is able to sing four verses. She will be able to summon the blood rain that can deal massive damage to every enemy. This blood rain often finishes the fight on its own.

The biggest new challenge in Bayonetta 3’s combat is the fact that the player can not equip a particular weapon sets to the character’s legs or arms. When you get a new weapon, it works as a set that has attacks for kicks and punches.

The payers will not find any problem with matching and mixing the weapons types because the character’s arsenal of weapons is extensive. You will find versatile Ignis Yo-Yos, which hit enemies at a distance with punch attacks and kick attacks for the close enemies.

When I was playing, I had an arsenal of 10 weapons and nine demons to play with in combat which had their own skills. Bayonetta had many wild weapons in the previous parts, but in Bayonetta 3, the weapons are amazing as hell.

Bayonetta’s arsenal of weapons

Viola, the second character in Bayonetta 3, has no access to Bayonetta’s summons and weapons. But she is still ready to play in combat like a blast. Viola fights with her samurai sword, and she is able to toss her sword instead of summoning and transforming it into her powerful cat demon.

Watch time is also very important in this combat in Bayonetta 3. Watch time is a slow motion that starts when dodging an attack at the last second as Bayonetta. But Viola time blocked with her sword just before an attack was going to hit her.

Remembering to block and dodge the attack is an adjustment period, and I enjoyed Viola’s chapter in Bayonetta 3.

A Witch Brew

Bayonetta 3 is just more than just combat in this story, and the most interesting thing is that its predecessors mixed up its gameplay styles. It never feels like in other action games that the block-off combat encounter is just happening. There is plenty of situation where exploration is more focused in Bayonetta 3 gameplay.

Rewarding hidden missions that give magic-increasing items, valuable life, fun missions, and the game boss battles. Bayonetta 3 can make you haw dropping with its thrilling actions, all sorts of chaos around you, and combat sequel.

In Bayonetta 3, the original character’s voice is lacking, and Jeniffer Hale and Hellena Taylor are not satisfying the character. Jennifer Hale has a great job of picking up this role of Bayonetta and comes into the game phenomenally.

Conclusion

Platinum Games has long worked in making a character action leader genre, and Bayonetta 3 is a very good initiative and example of this sequel. Bayonetta 3’s reflexive and fast features are challenging combat, allowing a ton of creativity and adventure in the game.
